frequently asked questions

I've tried to answer the most common questions here but if you have any questions that are unanswered please leave your details below and I will come back to you.

Q. Who does your printing?

A: My work is printed by David Hobbs from Master of Prints in Adelaide, South Australia. David is passionate about his work and the relationships he nurtures with his creative clients.

Q: Why do you use this printing service?

A: I have a long creative relationship with David Hobbs and trust him implicitly to create the best reproduction of my work. Over a period of ten years, David printed my images for the AIPP Print Awards on a national and state level. These printed images were crucial in my success in these industry awards. I entrust David to print my work for exhibitions and clients knowing that his attention to detail will be reflected in the final print.

Q: Describe the printing process and the paper?

A: David works with Epson large format printers, including the new Epson SureColour P9560 to produce an archival pigment ink print on 100% cotton rag.

Q: How are the prints packaged?

A: The prints are packaged by David in his studio with the utmost care. The print is carefully wrapped in glassine which is an acid free ph neutral waterproof material and placed inside a sturdy cardboard tube. David includes a pair of cotton gloves to ensure that you can view your print and keep it pristine.

Q: Do you offer framing?

A: I currently do not offer framing via the website, but I am happy to discuss this option and provide a quotation if you email me via the contact page.

Q: Why don’t the image sizes conform to the exact sizes listed?

A: Each image reflects a particular crop that is unique to the original image. Using standard sizing enables a consistent approach for the purchasing of prints. It is important that the artistic integrity of the original image maintained by keeping the crop the same as it was intended. The longest side of the print will conform to the longest dimension of the size selected. If you are requiring a size not specified, please contact me to discuss other options.

Q: Why are images printed with a 5cm border?

A: The white border is important for framing purposes because it provides a white point which is consistent with the white in the image. It is an aesthetic and technical consideration in presenting the final image.

Q: What is your returns/refund policy?

A: It is important that you are happy with your purchase. I am unable to offer a return or refund once the image has been printed so please choose carefully. I do, however, offer a replacement if the print is faulty, damaged or is lost during delivery. Please email us within seven days of receiving your order to discuss any concerns you may have so we can arrange a replacement.

Q: What is your copyright policy?

A: My work cannot be copied, reproduced, or published by any individual or party in any form without my express permission as the owner of the copyright in accordance with the Copyright law in Australia. Please contact me if you have any questions in relation to this.

Q: Are you available for commissions?

A: Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in discussing a commission or collaboration in the genres of portrait, landscape, commercial or aerial projects. I would love to discuss any ideas you may have and to provide a quote.
